Hunsrück Hideaway
★★★★
Holiday Home, Bruschied, Germany
Stylish and cozy, this recently renovated studio apartment has an open floor plan with three large rooms (bedroom, living room, kitchen) and a bathroom with a shower, as well as a laundry room. The village of Bruschied is perched on a mountainside, overlooking a sweeping valley below. We think it’s the most beautiful spot in southwestern Germany. Step out onto the terrace for a stunning view of the valley directly below.

The Apartment

The apartment can accommodate up to 4 people. This private apartment is located on the ground floor of a large multigenerational house. There is a private terrace and yard in front of the apartment. The apartment is very quiet, as it faces away from the main road. The apartment faces west, giving it good sun exposure in the afternoons and evenings (and great views of the sunset). In the bedroom you will find two single beds. The living room couch is a sleeper couch that can be turned into a double bed (for two). A cot can also be provided. The living room includes a couch, flat-screen TV (with Netflix), easy chair, and dining room table with 4 chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, coffee maker, tea maker, and toaster. In the utility room, a laundry machine is available.

Guest Amenities

Guests have access to the private studio apartment and terrace as well as a home gym (common use), which includes a Precor elliptical trainer, weights, and rowing machine. The home gym is located in the cottage right in front of the apartment. For kids, there is a local playground just a few meters from the front door.

About the Neighborhood

Bruschied is an idyllic village located on the side of a mountain with one of the best views of the countryside in the Hunsrück. There are dozens of interesting and beautiful hikes literally minutes from your front door, including a hike up to the Teufelsfels and 360° viewing platform, and down into the valley to the Schmidtburg (medieval castle ruins), a slate mine, and a Celtic settlement. In addition to hiking, there are also excellent bike trails, as well as fishing, horseback riding, and archery. If you are interested in venturing further afield, the German gemstone capital of Idar-Oberstein has great museums and shopping. Germany’s longest hanging bridge in Mörsdorf also makes for an excellent half-day trip. The attractions of the Rhein and Mosel rivers are both under 45 minutes drive from here.
